Using Insurance To Pay For Rehab: How It Works

If you or a loved one are considering substance use or mental health treatment, the most valuable asset you need right now is clarity. Clarity about pricing, insurance, and how to pay for treatment provides the confidence you need to move forward with peace of mind.
✦ At MARC, the process is simple and streamlined:

We’re happy to explain everything you need to know about paying for treatment, the alcohol and substance abuse treatment process, and using insurance to pay for rehab.

Verify Your Insurance Coverage and Benefits

We are an in-network provider through Kaiser Permanente and work with all major carriers as an out-of-network provider to ensure you or your loved one receive the treatment options you need to succeed in recovery and in life.

Participate In A Pre-Screening Evaluation

We want to ensure MARC is the right place to address your alcohol or substance use disorder needs. This entry evaluation will help our clinicians determine the level of care needed to present to the insurance company.

Receive Treatment Costs

Based on your insurance provider and your specific health insurance plan, we will present treatment costs and clarify what out-of-pocket expenses may still be required. Our treatment plans may include a wide range of mental and behavioral health therapies as part of our outpatient programs, medication-assisted treatment, and a plan for long-term solutions like sober housing and aftercare.

At MARC, we do not view treatment with a “one and done” approach.

No single level of care alone is sufficient to build a lifetime of healthy, positive habits that improve the trajectory of your life. Our treatment facility believes the recovery process should be one comprehensive solution, from the earliest stages of recovery to thriving reintegration into your daily life.

This depends on what insurance carrier you work with, any deductibles and copays, and what health benefits you have. In most cases, insurance covers some aspect of all clinical treatment services. Other living costs for extended care and/or sober living may not be covered by insurance and must be managed via private pay options or payment plans.

If your health insurance coverage is insufficient to cover treatment or you don’t have any, additional payment options exist, including grants, Medicare, Medicaid, and VA benefits, if applicable.

MARC also accepts private pay solutions for full programming. This means we’ll work with you to create a sustainable payment plan to ensure the cost of treatment is not a barrier to our rehab programs or your success.

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was a huge win for healthcare and health insurance reform. Alcohol and substance use disorder is classified as one of the ten essential health benefits included in the scope of the ACA. [1]

This resource may help increase the amount of insurance coverage available for low treatment coverage or those who have none at all, making treatment for addiction and mental health conditions more accessible than ever.

Addiction Treatment Program Costs

The cost of intensive outpatient treatment at our Maryland rehab center will vary, depending on the scope and timeline of treatment needed. At MARC, our focus is on complete lifestyle transformation and deeply effective community integration. We’re invested in your success for life, not just for treatment.

To determine the costs applicable to you or your loved one, please call our admissions office or fill out the form below.
