What is the Addiction Treatment Alumni Program?

When formal treatment has ended, many are left wondering what their next steps are. Where should they go? How can they maintain their current progress? Who will be there to support them?

At MARC, our alumni addiction treatment program is where the rubber of treatment truly meets the road of life.

Structured treatment programs are just the beginning of recovery. The drug and alcohol addiction treatment process should be viewed as one complete package that begins on day one of treatment and continues as you embark on a thriving, flourishing life free of harmful substances and patterns. Short-term detox or a brief stint at an inpatient rehab may help to get someone sober, but it isn’t enough to support lifelong sobriety and effectively manage relapse prevention.

Our unique community-integrated model with our sober living homes empowers you daily through peer support, accountability, encouragement, and education. This is how you sustain a healthy, sober life that aligns with your big-picture goals. Start here. Overcome here. Thrive here.

How (and Why) Our Alumni Recovery Program Works at MARC

The days of early recovery are challenging personally, professionally, relationally, and in every other way. Studies show that 90-day relapse rates after formal treatment are astronomical, between 65-70%.[1] The need for ongoing support is critical.

Alumni programs offer a dedicated support system and community that helps you stay connected and accountable throughout your recovery journey. At MARC, our rehab alumni program is a community integration model designed to connect with every aspect of your life, from sober housing to vocational support.

You’ll be deeply rooted in a support network that helps you reclaim personal autonomy, build essential life skills, and thrive as you transition from treatment back to typical daily routines. Formal treatment programs offer a reset from alcohol and drug addiction. Alumni programs are the foundation for building your best life and owning your story.

Efficacy of Addiction Treatment Alumni Programs

The recovery journey lasts a lifetime. It can be difficult and is often lonely. Without the support of an informed and encouraging peer network, navigating the challenges of recovery and relapse can be exceedingly difficult to maintain on your own.[2]

Additionally, long-term success in recovery has been associated with comprehensive satisfaction in the treatment process, indicating the importance of the fully integrated, long-term support that our alumni program provides.[3]
