Clinical Group Facilitator

Carley Foster, LCPC

Carley Foster is a Clinical Group Facilitator at Maryland Addiction Recovery Center. Originally from western North Carolina, Carley received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina Charlotte and a Master’s in Professional Counseling from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. She was introduced to Psychodrama, a type of experiential therapy, while completing her clinical internship at a substance use treatment center. She began formally training in Psychodrama and other action methods shortly after graduating, and currently plans to pursue full certification. Throughout her career, Carley has been passionate about the transformative power of group therapy.

Carley has experience supporting clients suffering from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders in PHP, IOP, and outpatient levels of care. She specializes in issues including substance use, eating disorders, persistent anxiety and depression, and trauma. In addition to her Psychodrama training, she is also a student of Somatic Experiencing, a type of therapy developed for PTSD and other trauma disorders. Her clinical work is heavily influenced by these two approaches. Outside of work, Carley is an avid figure skater, thoughtful gardener, and a lover of all dogs.
