Editorial Guidelines

Rebuilding Lives, Restoring Hope

We Are Committed to Excellence In Education and Support

Part of the journey from substance use disorder into recovery is education. At MARC, we believe the best way to serve our addiction and recovery community is to create and elevate content, resources, curriculum, and other educational materials according to an established editorial standard.

Our aim is to activate and restore hope by sharing current, helpful, accurate, and practical data that applies to our patients and their loved ones.

A Standardized and Meticulous Editorial Process

Accuracy and usefulness are two critical components of resource creation. Ensuring the consistency of deliverable quality and relevance requires a detailed, four-part editorial process. This is what that looks like here at the Maryland Addiction Recovery Center.

From internal clinicians, providers, and outreach coordinators to external expert consultants, we only create and accept contributions that are within our expertise and relevant to our community. We pursue the highest levels of quality and accuracy to ensure patient safety and advance general awareness. Our contributors are selected based on their subject matter expertise and industry knowledge.

Every resource, article, and publication that communicates medical, mental health, or substance use data will be evaluated by a licensed medical doctor. This added layer of review will help confirm its accuracy before any resources are published online or printed.

There is no shortage of information available in our time. However, the disparity of quality from item to item is jarring. In our content and resource production process, we’re committed to meticulous research to connect our community with high-quality data, medical studies, and the latest innovations in our space.

As the industry changes and the needs of our community shift, we recognize that our resources must do the same. By conducting regular reviews of existing educational assets, we will uphold our commitment to accuracy, practicality, and relevance.
