Maryland Addiction Recovery Center Sober Living for Men
For many individuals needing intensive outpatient (IOP) addiction and co-occurring treatment at Maryland Addiction Recovery Center, a safe, structured sober living is a vital piece of a supportive continuum of care. Sober living (also called a sober house or sober home) is a safe environment where a patient is surrounded by a supportive sober community, along with house management and staff.
For male patients, MARC provides a safe, sober living environment in a large, comfortable home close to our Community Living campus. With management and staff, MARC IOP patients living in the sober home are given appropriate oversight, necessary accountability, and the opportunity to engage in the local recovery community. Close to jobs and schools, the MARC sober living for men is the perfect setting for patients not in need of long-term extended care programming, but who need a sober environment and community outside of the family home or apartment while attending IOP.

House Rules
- No drugs or alcohol permitted on premises.
- No violence, threats of violence, or weapons of any kind on premises.
- Weekly rent due on Sunday.
- 10:30pm weeknight and 12:00am Friday and Saturday curfew.
- All clients must sign in and out when leaving or returning to the house.
- Random drug testing done throughout the week.
- Random breathalyzers.
- Each client will have an assigned chore at the house.
- Clients must attend a minimum of 6 treatment groups or recovery meetings each week with slips signed by either treatment clinician or recovery meeting secretary.
- No overnight passes the first 30 days, with overnight passes with family or for recovery events after 30 days approved by staff.
- Mandatory house meeting Sundays at 7pm.
- Medication will be kept in lockers and clients are responsible for their own medications, a week at a time.

With management and staff, MARC IOP patients living in the sober home are given appropriate oversight, necessary accountability, and the opportunity to engage in the local recovery community. Walking distance to shops, Towsontowne Mall, jobs, and multiple colleges and universities, the MARC sober living for women is the perfect setting for patients not in need of long-term extended care programming, but who need a sober environment and community outside of the family home or apartment while attending IOP.
