Maryland Addiction Recovery Center of Towson, Maryland and Caron Treatment Centers, headquartered in Wernersville, Pennsylvania, have announced a new joint venture between the organizations and the acquisition of Encore Recovery Solutions of Arlington, Virginia.
“As an organization, MARC has always been about providing the highest in evidence-based treatment options in a community-based setting,” said Sam Bierman, Executive Director of Maryland Addiction Recovery Center. “Encore has always been known as high quality clinically-based program serving Arlington and the surrounding Northern Virginia and Washington, DC area. This new joint venture between MARC and Caron will provide the best in addiction treatment for patients and their families throughout the entire DMV region.”
“This acquisition of Encore by Caron and MARC is an exciting next step for Caron,” stated Doug Tieman, President and CEO of Caron Treatment Centers.” It expands our capabilities to help more of those suffering with the chronic, treatable disease of substance use disorder and their families. Caron’s mission is Recovery for Life. By making more clinical and recovery services available in our regions, we are growing our continuum and making that mission a reality.”
This announcement finalizes the acquisition of Encore, which MARC and Caron have been operating under a management agreement with Encore since April 2019. At this time, Encore will now be under the ownership of Maryland Addiction Recovery Center and Caron Treatment Centers, under a newly formed joint venture organization. Encore Recovery, based in Northern Virginia just outside of Washington, D.C., provides intensive outpatient (IOP) programming for the treatment of substance use disorder under a trauma-focused clinical philosophy. Known for its work with young adults and their families, Encore recently enhanced its clinical offerings with an evening IOP specifically for working professionals. Additional programming for parents, educational events, and professional events are also planned. The acquisition expands both MARC’s and Caron’s strategic alliance and furthers both organizations abilities to provide innovative and personalized treatment and recovery services, awareness initiatives, and advocacy efforts in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia.
“This partnership creates enormous opportunity for Encore Recovery Solutions and the community we serve,” explained Tom Walker, CEO of Encore. “We are now supported by two of the leading providers of substance use disorder treatment in the country. The knowledge, resources, and best practices Encore gains with Caron’s and MARC’s support will help us refine and expand our services to have a greater, more effective impact in the greater Washington DC area. We are excited to work with friends and colleagues that we have long respected and are humbled by the opportunity to join them as team members. “
Nationwide leaders in the addiction treatment sector, MARC and Caron have an ongoing strategic partnership that provides patients and families in the Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia (DMV) region an extensive continuum of care that includes assessment, detoxification, extended care with community living, intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient treatment, and family and recovery support services. This is the first joint venture between the two organizations.
“We have always deeply respected and admired Caron for the work they do and have admired the clinical work performed at Encore since its inception,” expressed MARC Co-Founder and Director of Business Development Zach Snitzer. “This new joint venture allows Maryland Addiction Recovery Center to expand its footprint and brand of clinically-driven, patient-centered treatment. Encore will continue to serve their local community with excellent services, but now with the expertise and support from both MARC and Caron.”
